Set in Motion (3 Sep – 27 Nov 2016), curated by Sarah Wall.
Kinetic sculpture and film from the Len Lye Foundation Collection were presented alongside contemporary kinetic works by a new generation of artists, inspiring us to consider the continued resonance of Len Lye’s work in the 21st century.
The four contemporary artists in the
Set in Motion exhibition: Rebecca Baumann, Žilvinas Kempinas, Taree Mackenzie and Ross Manning, have important links with Len Lye, from their reuse of everyday technology and materials, to their experiments with movement along with light, colour and sound.
This publication includes a Director’s Foreword by Simon Rees, essays, full page exhibition images, a list of works, and artists’ and contributors’ biographies.
